b.      DCPROMO incorrectly detects that IPv6 configured with dynamic IP. Resolved by SP2, otherwise, ignore error

d.      Option to install DNS Server role grayed out if DNS server role already installed.

e.      If Japanese Language locale used, install the fix b4 allowing 1^st reboot after DCPROMO with connectivity to replica DCs

7.       RODCPROMO

a.       Option to install RODCs only enabled if FFL = W2K3 or higher

b.      Cannot make the first W2K8 DC in a domain an RODC

8.       Post upgrade

a.       For RODCs

                                                         i.            Get 953392 on all W2K8 writable DCs.

                                                       ii.            Install RODC compatibility pack (MSKB 944043 ) on relevant OS versions in environment

                                                      iii.            The DNS Server service on an RODC does not respond to DNS queries for several minutes if the link to some RWDCs breaks in Windows Server 2008. KB981370

b.      For DNS Servers

                                                         i.            For all W2K8 DNS Servers hosting secondary copies of DNS zones, make sure that 953317 installed to avoid the zone transfer delete bug

                                                       ii.            EDNS (RFC 2671) is turned on for W2K8 R2 DNS servers.  Review the following KBs for examples of compatability issues. KB828263 KB977158 KB832223

               c.    For DCs running on hyper-V & VMWARE,

                                                         i.            Install a UPS

                                                       ii.            Brief all admins on the risks of USN rollbacks caused by restoring snapshots on DC role guests. Review http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd363553(WS.10).aspx

                                                      iii.            P2V conversions should be done in offline mode. If converting multiple DC’s in same forest, then all need to be offline @ same time.

               d.    Disaster Avoidance & Recovery

                                                      iii.            If using 3^rd party backup, test system state restores + alternate backup like Windows Server backup so that PSS can restore when 3^rd party product fails to restore

Bugün karşılaştığımız bir sorunun çözümünü buradan paylaşmak istiyorum. Domain ortamında Windows 7 clientın logon olmasıyla birlikte, profil sıfırlanmıştı. Windows 7 işletim sisteminde user profili yenilendiği zaman temp user oluşturuyor. Bu durumda yapmamız gereken Restart etmek çare olmuyordu. Ancak kullanıcı eski dosylarını C:\Users altında eski profilinde görebiliyordu.

Çözüme ulaşmak için yapılacak işlemler,

• Clientı local admin accountu ile açın.
• Eski dosyaların ( belgelerim, desktop vs.) bulunduğu profil C:\Users\kullaniciadi.domainadi  ( Kullanıcı adı ve domain adı yapınıza göre değişmektedir) şeklinde görünmektedir.
•  Profili F2 tuşu ile ismini C:\Users\kullaniciadi adı şekline getirin.
• Regedit'e girin.
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList içerisinde sonunda “sid.bak” olan anahtarları silin.
• Bilgisayarı restart edin ve kullanıcı ile logon olun.
• Sorun giderilmiş olacaktır.

Step 1: Replicating Exchange 2003 PF's to Exchange 2010

Add the Exchange 2010 server as PF replica partner for the Exchange 2003 server PF's:

• From the Exchange 2010 server: .\AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -server "Exchange 2010 Server" -TopPublicFolder "\non_ipm_subtree"

Replicate the Exchange 2003 Public Folder hierarchy and content to Exchange 2010 server using ESM (Exchange 2003 System Manager), and then replicate the Public Folder hierarchy and content from the Exchange 2010:

• From the Exchange 2010 server: Update-PublicFolderHierarchy -Server "Exchange 2010 Server"

 Step 2: Moving Exchange 2003 PF's to Exchange 2010

As a last step, after you confirmed that all the PF have been replicated to the Exchange 2010, you can move all replicas from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. The "move all replicas" will actually remove the Exchange 2003 replicas.

To move all Exchange 2003 replicas to Exchange 2010, which will actually remove the Exchange 2003 replicas:

• From the Exchange 2010 server: .\MoveAllReplicas.ps1 -Server "Exchange 2003 Server" -NewServer "Exchange 2010 Server"

To view a list of the replicas in the public folder hierarchy: Get-PublicFolder -recurse |fl name,replicas
